The contractor will place temporary concrete barrier, asphalt pavement, signage and pavement markings prior to switching southbound I295 motorists onto two new travel lanes. Southbound I295 motorists will merge with I95 traffic further south near DelDOT’s salt barn located in the I95 median. I295 motorists will be detoured for a period from 8 pm on Sunday, September 12, 2021 until 5 am on Monday, September 13, 2021 to complete the switch to the new I295 travel lanes.
One I95 travel lane will be closed from 7 am on Sunday, September 12, 2021 until 5 am on Monday, September 13, 2021. Southbound I95/I295 motorists should expect delays during this period.
For those travelling on southbound I-295, the following detour route will be utilized:
- The detour route will instruct drivers to use Ramp N (southbound I-295 to northbound 141) and then use Ramp L (northbound Delaware Route 141 to southbound I-95) to southbound I-95.
